The nurse "ran" over to show me she really was a girl!!
Our doctor and midwife! Our midwife, Kelly, has helped deliver all four of our babies!
Daddy and Kennedy watching the US Open.
Chad and I headed to the hospital the morning of June 18th for our scheduled csection. The whole way to the hospital we were still discussing what we were going to name our baby if he was a boy. We couldn't decide on a middle name. We got checked in and were sent to our er prep room...we had all the wires hooked up so we could hear the heartbeat. The whole time the heartrate was 130-140 - all the nurses, doctor, midwife and us included kept thinking, "yep, it is a boy"! Our doctor, Jill, asked Chad if he wanted to call out the sex. While waiting for them to pull our baby out we were still discussing middle names for a boy. When the time was there Chad peeked over the curtain and screamed "IT'S A GIRL!!!" - the WHOLE ER cheered! It was a wonderful surprise...I guess that is why we love to wait to find out what we are having. The joy, happiness, shock, pure amazement that we felt in that moment is so worth the wait! I, of course, asked while being stitched up if Kennedy was to young for a pedicure! Chad's mom, Alene, and my mom, Marie, were both in the waiting room with Tyler. Chad went in to share the news - it was a joyous sight with lots of tears. Drew and Bryan were in bible school that morning. Our good friend Heather had them for the day so they called to find out if they had a baby brother or sister - they both were so excited to have a little sister!!!!! That is all Bryan wanted - a little sister to protect. The boys have been so sweet with her - kisses, hugs, always wanting to hold her. It is beautiful to see the love they share.
Kennedy was 8 lbs 12 oz and 20 3/4 inches long - she is absolutely stunning! We are loving all the pink and purple in the house!
